Save up to 15% on gift cards with Amazon’s Boxing Day promotion:
- 3% off Category Choice gift cards
- 5% off Haris Farm gift cards
- 10% off Uber, Uber Eats, DoorDash, Event Cinemas, Cotton On and Temple & Webster gift cards
- 15% off HelloFresh, EveryPlate, Youfoodz and Kobo gift cards
- $10 promo credit when you spend $100 on Google Play gift cards
- $20 promo credit when you spend $200 on Apple gift cards
Note that there’s a bug on the Amazon website where you sometimes don’t see all of the denominations available for each gift card. If that happens, try using the app or another device.
The Category Choice Fuel gift card works at almost any service station whilst the Groceries card can be spent at Coles, Woolworths, Costco and more. See here for more information about them.
A popular use of the Category Choice Pets & Vets gift card is to pay insurance premiums (they don’t just work for pet insurance), although some providers may not accept prepaid gift cards.
With the Uber & Uber Eats gift cards, don’t forget that you can switch the payment method on purchases you made up to 30 days ago to use gift cards you’ve just bought and added to your account.
The promo credits that are included with the Apple and Google Play offers can be used to pay for future qualifying purchases you make on Amazon.
10% off Event Cinemas gift cards is best avoided as those same gift cards will earn 20% cashback on ShopBack later today.
Similarly, 10% off DoorDash gift cards isn’t especially great when you consider that they’re always 20% off for Costco members.

Thanks for this update.
Amazon website was fine for showing all Category Choice denominations, but app wasn’t.
Can I use the Harris farm gift card from Amazon to buy the gift card from Harris Farm website?
I very much doubt it but it’s not something I’ve tried.
I don’t think so, unless U got 16 digit card with CVV and expiry date from Amazon
HI GCDB, does grocery choice gc still works for buying closed loop gc at wws?
saw this report on OZB: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/939555
I believe they still work. However, they have brought back their annoying spend limits so you can’t, for example, spend $500 on a Groceries gift card in one transaction but you should be able to spend as much as $250 or so. If you wait at least ten minutes or use another payment terminal (i.e. a different checkout) you should be able to buy more. The exact limits aren’t known but if you’re happy to spread your purchases out you can probably still make it work.
Yeah it’s still working at Coles, limit is $250ish per terminal every 15mins.
Got declined for buying 3 at $315 yesterday, 2 at $210 is still working.
Will test out at WWS next time, IKEA gc normally is $200 max denominations, wonder why it got declined.
Any idea on when the next Apple deals may land? Looking to buy a new iPhone and just missed out on the recent batch of points deals.
Coles will have 20x Flybuys points on Apple gift cards from 31 Dec.
Can I use my Cole’s Mastercard to buy these card on Amazon ?
Probably but it’ll be annoying as you’ll be left with a small balance on each card (e.g. if you use a $100 Mastercard to buy a $100 Category Choice card at 3% off it’ll have $3 left on it). Amazon used to let you specify exact amounts so that you could, for example, buy a $103.09 gift card that came to exactly $100.00 after the 3% off was applied but now you just have to choose from a handful of fixed denominations.
Also, I have heard reports of Amazon closing accounts that have used lots of prepaid gift cards to buy other gift cards so that’s worth keeping in mind.
Not worth the hassle, mate. It worked for me at first — I bought the Category Choice and a $3 Amazon gift card — but then Amazon closed my account and clawed back the $3 gift card (from my Amazon balance, even after I’d already applied it). They refunded the $3 back to the Coles card, which might never actually arrive.
I’m patient enough to sit on the phone for an hour waiting for Amazon customer service to unlock my account, but I’m not bothered chasing them again over the $3 that’s floating somewhere in their system, even though the order shows as “cancelled” and “refunded” in my Amazon’s order history.
