For example, if you use 20,000 of your Flybuys points to buy a $100 TCN Shop gift card (redeemable at Uber etc), you’ll receive 2,000 points back within four weeks. You can receive a maximum of 20,000 bonus points.
This offer only makes sense if you have no interest in converting your points to Velocity where they could potentially be worth a lot more.
Whilst the Flybuys Rewards Store does have a Points Plus Pay option, it’s a shocking bad idea to use it because it lowers the value of your points.
For example, a $100 gift card costs 20,000 points but if you only have 6,000 points then you’re required to contribute an additional $87.50 by card, meaning you’re effectively paying $117.50 for a $100 gift card. Insanity.
