1,500 Flybuys points on Visa gift cards at Coles

Image: Coles

Earn 1,500 Flybuys points on $100 and $250 Vanilla Visa gift cards when you buy them in-store at Coles between 24 Sep and 30 Sep 2025.

Vanilla Visa gift cards can be used almost anywhere Visa is accepted. On top of the 1,500 bonus points, you’ll also earn 1x Flybuys point per dollar spent.

Here are the details:

  • Runs from Wed 24 Sep to Tue 30 Sep 2025
  • Only available in-store at Coles
  • Limit of five gift cards per Flybuys account
  • $5.95 fee on $100 card, $7.50 fee on $250 card
  • Excludes Birthday and Thank You Visa gift cards
  • This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation
  • Points are usually credited in 1-3 days

The $100 and $250 Visa gift cards earn the same 1,500 points bonus so the $100s are the better buy. If you bought the maximum of five $100 Visa gift cards, you would earn a little over 8,000 Flybuys points worth $40 or convertible to 4,000 Velocity points.

This offer isn’t as impressive as Coles’ recent 2,000 points offer on Mastercard gift cards that had even cheaper purchase fees but it’s still “profitable” and far exceeds anything Woolworths have run in 2025.

Warning: Make sure you open up and check each Visa gift card immediately after purchasing to ensure that it hasn’t been tampered with. Look for scratched off digits on the card number and CVV. See here for more information.

  1. Thanks Editor. Do you know if you could use the category choice groceries card to pay for these as long as a staff member doesn’t catch you?

    1. As far as I know it is still possible to pay for these gift cards at Coles using the Category Choice Groceries gift cards.

    2. Yes, it is possible.
There’s nothing wrong with staff members catching you.
The Choice Groceries, from the point of view of Coles, are just Visa cards like any other Visa cards. They don’t care where you got them from, and how much you paid for it. It the transaction is approved (which it should), Coles made their money and everyone is happy.

    1. It should work for at least some gift cards but almost certainly not Woolworths Group gift cards or other prepaid Visa, Mastercard or Eftpos gift cards.

  2. Could we use those cards with Post pay?
Tried with one bill, and selected ‘Savings’, then entered random PIN, and got declined. I believe there used to be ‘Credit Card’ and signature, and succeed.
