Ultimate gift cards, sometimes known as One4All gift cards, are a series of eighteen individually themed multi-retailer gift cards produced by Blackhawk Network. Ultimate gift cards are not to be confused with the similarly themed TCN multi-retailer gift card range.
Note that there is an older version of Ultimate gift card that works differently to the current series. If you have an Ultimate gift card where the physical card was attached to the outside of the packaging (not inside of it), refer to that article instead.
Summary
You can:
- Use Ultimate gift cards at participating retailers listed for each card on their website
- Depending on the retailer, use Ultimate gift cards in-store, online or exchange them for a retailer’s own digital gift card
- Often buy Ultimate gift cards during 10% off or 20x rewards points promotions
You cannot:
- Rely on the list of retailers printed on the physical gift cards as they often change; the list on the Ultimate Gift Cards website is the only accurate one
- Use multiple Ultimate gift cards at all participating retailers, only some of them
Participating retailers
The Ultimate gift cards website is the authoritative source for where each of their gift cards can be used. What is shown on the gift cards themselves may be out of date, especially if they’ve been sitting on a supermarket shelf for several years.
You can use our multi-retailer search tool to easily discover where each Ultimate gift card can be used. We keep this list regularly updated but to be safe you should also consult the Ultimate website.
Sometimes when a retailer is removed they still allow older cards bearing that logo to still be used there (e.g. Drummond Golf). For many other retailers, however, their removal means that no Ultimate gift cards can ever be used there again. For more information on retailer removals, refer to the Ultimate FAQ page.
Finding the expiry date for your Ultimate gift card
Rather confusingly, physical Ultimate gift cards sometimes have two different expiry dates. The date your card will actually stop working may not be the one you must enter when using your Ultimate gift card online, adding it to your mobile wallet or exchanging it for another gift card.
If your physical Ultimate gift card doesn’t show a date on the front (e.g. Valid Thru 06/32), you can find out what it is by using the balance check website. 12/29 often works for older Ultimate gift cards.
For all digital Ultimate gift cards, the expiry date is simply the one shown on your card alongside all of its other details (card number, CVV etc).
How to use Ultimate gift cards
Depending on the retailer, you can either use your Ultimate gift cards in-store, online or exchange them for a retailer’s own gift cards. You can find out which methods are supported by going to the All Retailers page on the Ultimate website and seeing what options each retailer allows.
Using an Ultimate gift card in-store
If you have a physical Ultimate gift card, you can use it in-store simply by swiping your physical card at the payment terminal, selecting Credit and then entering the PIN on the card. If you need to use multiple cards to pay, just ask the staff member if you can pay a specific amount with each card.
It’s also possible to pay in-store via Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay if you have received a digital Ultimate gift card or if you have chosen to add your physical Ultimate gift card to your mobile wallet.
The advantage of paying in-store is that it’s often the only way you can use multiple gift cards for a single purchase as some retailers limit you to just one or two gift cards for online transactions (e.g. Officeworks, The Good Guys etc).
Using Ultimate gift cards online
Ultimate gift cards can also be used online by entering the card number, expiry and CVV (security code) directly in the credit or debit card field on a retailer’s website. For some retailers (e.g. Menulog, Kogan), this is the only way you can use Ultimate gift cards whilst for others you also have the choice of exchanging your Ultimate gift card for one of the retailer’s own gift cards.
The downside of using your Ultimate gift card directly in the credit or debit card field is that you can only use one card at a time and it must have enough of a balance to cover the entire purchase because you can’t split the payment across multiple cards like you can for in-store purchases.
For that reason, we don’t recommend buying Ultimate gift cards if you plan to use them at an online-only retailer that doesn’t also give you the option of exchanging them for some of the their own gift cards.
Exchanging your Ultimate gift card for another gift card
Some retailers give you the option of swapping your Ultimate gift card for one of their own gift cards. To do this, go to the Ultimate Exchange website, enter your card details and choose which gift cards you’d like to swap for.
This approach is best for online retailers because it often enables you to use multiple gift cards whereas if you tried to use your Ultimate gift card directly you would be limited to just one card. That said, check to see what the retailer’s policy is for multiple gift cards as sometimes you can only use one of their own gift cards as well.
Using multiple Ultimate gift cards for one transaction
A common question people have about Ultimate gift cards is whether you can use multiple cards in a single transaction. This is usually fine when paying in-store but for online purchases it’s not always possible.
It’s not feasible for us to cover every Ultimate participating retailer but here is a list that shows how many gift cards you can use when shopping at some of the more popular ones.

Promotions
Ultimate are frequently included in promotions where you can typically expect to save around 10% or earn 20x rewards points. Coles and Woolworths are usually where you will find most promotions on Ultimate gift cards but other stores occasionally run them as well.
Lately, offers on Ultimate gift cards have become less generous with more exclusions and stricter purchase limits. In previous years, Ultimate gift cards were sometimes included in 15% off promotions but this hasn’t been the case since 2023.
