TCN multi-retailer gift cards are themed gift cards that can be used at a variety of different merchants. These gift cards are produced by The Card Network (TCN).
TCN multi-retailer gift cards are not to be confused with TCN Eftpos, TCN merchant category or the similarly themed Ultimate gift card range.
Summary
You can:
- Use each TCN gift card at the participating retailers available for that card
- Depending on the retailer, use the TCN gift card in-store or exchange it for one of the retailer’s own gift cards
- Often buy TCN gift cards during a 10% off or 20x points promotion
You cannot:
- Rely on the list of retailers printed on the physical cards – the TCN website is the definitive source as participating retailers often change

How to use TCN multi-retailer gift cards
How you use a TCN multi-retailer gift card depends on the particular brand you want to redeem it at. Some allow you to use them in-store, online or both.
TCN multi-retailer gift cards can be used in-store, online or both depending on the retailer. You can find out which options are available by going to the TCN website, selecting your gift card and then clicking on the brand you’re interested in.
If you’re using a TCN multi-retailer gift card in-store, you simply swipe your physical card, select Savings and then enter your card’s four digit PIN. With digital TCN multi-retailer gift cards, follow the steps to add it your mobile wallet and then tap your phone or watch to pay.
If you don’t have enough of a balance on your gift card to cover the entire purchase (e.g. you have a $50 gift card and your purchase is $60), just ask if you can split the payment across your gift card and another payment method such as your credit or debit card. There is usually no limit to the number of split payments you can perform when shopping in-store (online is a different story).
For online purchases, you’ll first need to swap your TCN gift card for one of the retailer’s own gift cards via the TCN website. If you get an error when attempting to swap, register your gift card here first then try again.
The TCN website helpfully tells you how many gift cards you can use with each retailer when shopping online. For some brands you may only be able to use a maximum of one gift card per online transaction whilst for others there may not be any limit at all (e.g. JB Hi-Fi). You’ll want to check this first before buying multiple gift cards.
Promotions
TCN multi-retailer gift cards are often included in promotions at Woolworths, Coles and selected other stores. A typical offer is either 10% off or 20x Everyday Rewards or Flybuys points per dollar spent. The best discount available on TCN multi-retailer gift cards is Coles’ annual 15% off promotion in November.
