TCN Pamper gift cards are merchant category restricted gift cards produced by The Card Network (TCN).
Summary
You can:
- Use TCN Pamper gift cards at hotels, barbers, beauty shops, health spas and beauty spas
- Potentially use TCN Pamper gift cards at additional types of merchants such as cosmetic stores, chiropractors and more
- Convert your physical gift card into a digital gift card that can be added to your mobile wallet
You cannot:
- Spend TCN Pamper gift cards at any business that doesn’t use one of the merchant category codes listed below
Supported merchant categories
Officially, only three merchant category codes are supported by TCN Pamper gift cards:
- 7011: Lodging: Hotels, Motels, Resorts: not elsewhere classified
- 7230: Barber and Beauty Shops
- 7298: Health and Beauty Spas
However, in 2024 TCN confirmed to us via email that the Pamper gift card also supports quite a few other merchant category codes:
- 3747: Club Corp/Club Resorts
- 5977: Cosmetic Stores
- 7997: Clubs: Country Clubs, Membership (Athletic, Recreation, Sports), Private Golf Courses
- 7999: Recreation Services: not elsewhere classified
- 8041: Chiropractors
- 8049: Chiropodists, Podiatrists
- 8099: Health Practitioners, Medical Services: not elsewhere classified
This more extensive list was first discovered by an OzBargain user in 2022 and we have subsequently seen multiple anecdotal reports of the TCN Pamper gift cards working at these types of merchants (e.g. chiropractors, cosmetic stores etc).
That being said, these additional merchant category codes are not mentioned anywhere in the terms and conditions so you shouldn’t buy TCN Pamper gift cards with the expectation that they will definitely support them.
How to use TCN Pamper gift cards
TCN Pamper gift cards are essentially prepaid debit cards that are set to work at any business that uses one of the supported merchant category codes mentioned in the section above. You don’t have to ask if they accept the TCN Pamper gift card because it should just work.
Physical TCN Pamper gift cards can only be used in-person so you have to swipe them in the payment terminal, select Savings and then enter the card’s PIN. If you don’t have enough of a balance to cover the entire purchase, ask if you can pay $X.XX on one card and the remainder on another.
Digital TCN Pamper gift cards can be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. The TCN app displays your digital gift card’s balance and transaction history as well as the card number, expiry and CVV (security code) which you can enter for online transactions where mobile wallets aren’t supported.
You can swap your physical TCN Pamper gift card for a digital one here. We recommend doing this as it’s more convenient and helps to avoid the issues that the physical cards have with some payment terminals (e.g. Square).
Promotions
TCN Pamper gift cards are included in promotions every month or so on average. A typical offer would be 20x rewards points or 10% off, though discounts of 15% off aren’t unheard of either.
