Types of Bunnings gift cards
There are two types of Bunnings gift cards:
- Traditional Bunnings gift cards without a PIN
- Reducing balance Bunnings gift cards with a four-digit PIN
Traditional Bunnings gift cards can only be used in-store and if you don’t use the entire balance of the card then you’ll be issued with a new reducing balance gift card for the remaining amount. You no longer receive cash for remaining balances of less than $9.95.
Reducing balance Bunnings gift cards feature a four-digit PIN and can be redeemed in-store and online including for Bunnings Marketplace purchases. The balance of these gift cards reduces each time you shop so you can keep using the same gift card for multiple purchases.
Promotions
Promotions on Bunnings gift cards are rare. For the most part, you are limited to small savings such as 2-3% off or cashback. In 2025, Coles ran two 10x Flybuys points offers on Bunnings gift cards but it’s unclear when or if this promotion will be repeated.
Merchant category gift cards like the Category Choice and ShopBack Tradie cards can be used at Bunnings, however, promotions on them are infrequent and rarely result in savings of more than 3% or so.
The ShopBack Super Swap gift card can be exchanged for Bunnings gift cards and is sometimes included in promotions where you can earn 4% or more cashback.
