Pay no purchase fee when you buy $100 and $250 digital Coles Mastercard gift cards on the GiftCards.com.au website. This offer isn’t available in-store.
The main advantage of these no fee offers is that you can buy the Mastercard gift cards with a points earning Visa, Mastercard or American Express card and then use them to pay the ATO with zero fees.
As of 1 Jan 2025, the ATO no longer charge a 0.2% fee when you use these gift cards so every dollar you spend can be applied towards your tax payment.
If you tried to use a points earning card to pay the ATO directly, you would incur a surcharge and may not earn any points at all due to the exclusions many cards have on payments to the government.
Whilst it has been possible to pay the ATO with these Mastercard gift cards for years, it’s possible they may one day remove this ability so it may not be a good idea to stock up. Just buy small batches at a time so if something changes you’re not stuck with a whole lot of them.
These are digital only gift cards and they don’t officially support mobile wallets so they’re not the easiest things to use for other types of purchases, though for some reason they do appear to currently work with Google Pay (not Apple Pay, unfortunately).

Hi, are we able to add this cards to PayPal?
I’ve had no issues using Coles Mastercard gift cards on PayPal.
Thank you !
How do you pay ATO with multiple gift cards? Would be a tedious process?
You just pay $250 at a time. It’s a little bit tedious but not that bad.
Tedious but worth it for the points
Hello, I just made a purchase for a gift card, only got the tax invoice , usually when would I receive the digital gift card ?
Usually they arrive quite quickly but delays of several hours aren’t unheard of, especially when an offer is quite popular. If you don’t receive it by morning you can give them a call and see what they say.
Ok thanks, not in a rush but just curious !
I tried to purchase with multicards but the site show as transaction fails. Any idea what might be the issues?
Their payment system is very picky with what cards they allow. I’d recommend trying again with another card. Sometimes using a different device or browser can help.
So it’s says $2500 per day. My husband has a $7000 ato bill can I buy $2500 over a few days?
I am in the same boat. But I am suspecting it knows I have bought $2500 yesterday somehow…
> Maximum order value $2,500
Went online to buy these now but the promotion seems to have been cut short. What the?
I asked why it was pulled early but they couldn’t tell me. They may have sold out of all the stock allocated to this offer or it could just be a technical issue. Who knows.
Thank you for confirming. Yes, I just received confirmation from them that they have cut the offer off now. A bit poor given that it was only live for a week or so. Demand must have exhausted supply/allocation.
Bizarre promotion. Opens on 6 Jan 2025, scheduled to end 28 Feb 2025, but terminated just one week later on 13 Jan 2025, with no explanation!
It’s back
Thanks. I’ve updated the post.
It’s been taken offline again. Very erratic this company!
Hello, I have a fine of $320.00 reais to pay. Would I be able to pay it using these gift cards?! They have BPAY for payment, and unfortunately they expire today and I wouldn’t like to pay another $65.00 fee for the fine due. Any ideas?! Since Australia Post only accepts cash or EFTPOS.
Buying these gift cards really only makes sense if you’re paying thousands of dollars. For small payments such as $320 it’s a lot of hassle for only a pittance of points.
Managed to buy one yesterday to see how it worked out to pay for some tax. Was planning to buy more today but offer taken down!
me too! I am really not happy as I didn’t realise they might cancell it before the advertised expiry date. I would have bought them earlier if I had known!
This offer says it expires 28/2/25 but it also says it is expired!
Not happy!
