Save 3% and earn 1x Everyday Rewards point per dollar spent when you buy the Woolworths Supermarket & Big W gift card on the Everyday Gifting website or in the Everyday Rewards app.
The 1x point per dollar essentially adds an extra 0.5% in value to this offer, making the total benefit roughly 3.5%.
This is hardly anything to get excited about as anyone who opens a Macquarie bank account can buy Woolworths gift cards for 3.5% off any time they like.
However, with this offer you do at least have the advantage of being able to pay with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card that earns you additional points on your purchase.
This is the first offer we’ve seen since Woolworths switched over to the new Everyday Gifting store (which now actually credits points instantly instead of making you wait weeks). Hopefully the next one is a little more compelling!
See here for the terms and conditions of this offer.

Can I use these gift cards to buy other gift cards?
You can’t, unfortunately.
Just bought this one and noticed it has a 3yr expiry date. I thought Woolworths had no expiry date. Is this new?
It does appear to be a new thing for just this gift card.
So just checked and you earn points on the discounted amount, so technically it’s a 3.485% discount rounded up to the nearest point.
do you get EDR points when you use the gift cards in store?
Yes. How you pay makes no difference when it comes to earning points on your shop.
Is it worth more than 3x points for qantas
As a general rule, you shouldn’t pay over 1 cent per Qantas point given what they’re worth. If you chose 3x Qantas points over 3% off plus 1x EDR point then you would effectively be paying a little bit over 1 cent per point. However, with Qantas Marketplace you can earn additional points with certain cards (e.g. Qantas Pay, Qantas AmEx Ultimate) which could make it worthwhile. Fundamentally, the two offers are close enough that it really just comes down to whether you would prefer the discount over the points.
