10% off Uber Eats gift cards, $10 promo credit on $100 Category Choice gift cards on Amazon

This post contains affiliate links which may earn GCDB a commission on your purchase.

Save up to 15% on selected gift cards on Amazon:

Amazon promo credits can be applied to future eligible orders you make on Amazon (subject to some conditions). The credits must be used by 31 Jul 2026.

This is a fantastic deal as most discounts on Category Choice gift cards top out at 3-4% off. The Category Choice Groceries gift card can be used at Coles, Woolworths, Costco etc and even to buy other gift cards in many cases (e.g. the TCN gift cards on offer this week).

Similarly, Category Choice Fuel gift cards should work at most service stations and Pets & Vets gift cards have been found to work when paying insurance premiums at some health funds (pet and human insurance use the same merchant category code).

Whilst you can earn multiple $10 promo credits by placing multiple separate orders of $100 each, the catch is that you can only spend one at a time. You cannot, for example, use five $10 promo credits to pay for a single $50 order.

Also, whilst it is possible to use a promo credit to lower the cost of your next gift card purchase, you won’t receive another credit if you do so. You will only earn the credits on orders that haven’t been paid for with one.

Another thing to keep in mind with Category Choice gift cards is that you usually can’t add more than one or two of them to your mobile wallet (e.g. Apple Pay) each day. If you’re planning to buy a lot, you likely won’t be able to add them all at once.

Uber Eats gift cards can be used for rides and food delivery orders. You can even apply them to purchases you made up to 30 days ago thanks to the handy switch payment hack.

  1. Placed one order and got the $10 credit, then placed another order and used the $10 credit, did not get another credit.

    1. Interesting. Was it a $100 gift card in both cases? If so, my guess is that because you’re only spending $90 the second time it doesn’t meet the $100 minimum spend as far as the offer is concerned.

It could also be the case that you can’t earn a promo credit on any purchase where one is used regardless of the value.

Update: You can definitely earn multiple credits, it’s just that you won’t earn them on any orders where you’ve used a credit to lower the cost.

      1. Read this thread so tried as follows:
        – purchase 1 of $100 Category groceries choice, got $10 credit
        – purchase 2, in one transaction a $100 groceries choice plus a $25 pets choice, with promo credit applied to bring total to $115.
        – no promo credit received

That’s still a bit better than the more recent 3% off – instead 4.44. But with no 2nd promo credit the 2nd transaction should just be $100 to maximise value at 5%.

        1. Thanks for testing. I’m not sure why I was able to earn multiple credits then – perhaps because I didn’t use credits to pay for them at all.

It could just be that not everyone is able to earn multiple credits but I don’t know why that would be the case as the terms and conditions don’t forbid it. If you don’t get the emails within 24 hours you should try asking Amazon’s live chat to manually credit them for you.

          1. Try another time purchase 100 without apply any promo code, receiving the 10 immediately. Three hours ago when applying 10 it giving me nothing till now. So it is obvious that if applying promote to your purchase then it will not provide you a new

          2. Luck you, I placed the second $100 order without using the $10 credit, so paid $100 at checkout, I received promotional credit confirmation email from Amazon for the second purchase but did not get the second $10 credit in my account.

          3. How do you know that the second credit isn’t on your account? When I had two it would only show up as one but after I spent the first one the second one became available.

          4. Mine also only showed one $10 credit even though I had 2 emails saying I had received 2 seperate $10 credits. I wanted to see if could bank the credits to buy one $50 gc. Alas you can only use one $10 credit at time. So now I have 10x $5 Groceries gift cards.

    1. There are $100 cards available but there’s a bug on Amazon where you sometimes can’t see all of the denominations. Try a different device or browser.

  2. Here is how to maximise your profit:

    Buy a $100 card.
Wait a couple of minutes until you receive the promotional credit email.
Buy 2 x $5 cards and pay nothing for that order.
Repeat as many times as you want.
Use the purchased Category Choice Groceries gift cards with this offer.

    1. you must have a lot of time to play around with these cards, as they are difficult to us. Blackhawk cards are nightmare

    1. You got the second one. The portal just doesn’t show it.
Spend the first $10 credit and you’ll see that you still have another $10 credit to spend

      1. Thanks Sam, just to confirm – Does this mean I can only use one $10 promotional credit per purchase? And it also means that I cannot accumulate the promotional credit five times (e.g. up to $50) or more and then use the full $50 promotional credit in a single next purchase?

  4. This is a solid deal. I paid with the Vanilla Visa gift cards I purchased from Coles this morning. Received the Amazon $10 bonus credit twice. Then purchased household basics such as OMO Ultimate Laundry Liquid 4L – total of $15 delivered! Sure beats paying $50 at Coles for the exact same thing.

    1. Update: I just purchased a third $100 gift card and have received the $10 promo credit for the third time. There doesn’t seem to be any limit.

  5. Although you can virtually print free money with this promotion, note that the terms and conditions state, “The promotional credit can only be redeemed once per customer on eligible items”. They may suspend your account if you do it repeatedly and your activity triggers a security flag.

    1. The promotional credit can only be redeemed once per customer on eligible items.

That just means you can’t use the credit on multiple purchases. It’s more obvious once you compare it to the same line in the terms and conditions for the current (awful) offer on Amazon gift cards:

The promotional credit can be used across multiple purchases of eligible items until it is exhausted.

Also, in the terms for these offers ‘qualifying items’ refers to the gift cards you must buy whilst ‘eligible items’ are what you can spend the promotional credit on.

      1. I appreciate your reply! But honestly, what would stop me from just printing free money here? I’ve done it multiple times, and it works exactly like this: You buy four $100 cards, then use those $400 at Coles to get a $400 Visa card (with around a $10 fee). After that, you use it to buy four of these grocery cards and get $40 promo credit, leaving you with a $30 profit. Then you repeat the process. If I keep doing this, will the authorities be at my door tomorrow? It just feels too good to be true!

        1. For one thing you can’t do split payments when buying gift cards at Coles self checkouts. You have to go through a regular checkout and ask staff.

I’ve also heard stories of people getting their Amazon accounts banned for using too many gift cards to buy other gift cards.

        2. I’ve been doing this for years and my used Coles cards are stacked like a mountain now, but the real cost was all the time wasted dealing with the loop: the ~$200 Blackhawk limit, travelling between stores, fuel, no stock, no staff at the counter to split payments, waiting ~10 minutes for the counter terminal to reset, plus random risks like tampered cards or getting your Amazon account locked/banned. Then you start asking yourself how many Blackhawk cards you can even add to a digital wallet in 24 hours, whether you can manage them all without messing up or losing one, and whether this is really “free money.” Because if you’ve ever hit a few Colesworth stores to grab 10–15 cards in a morning, come home, peel and scratch them all, then do 10–15 online orders just to make $40–$60, you realise you’d rather work a two‑hour side job even making a minimum wage, for the same amount of money.

  6. I cannot add more category choice cards to Apple Wallet after I added one successfully. I can make sure the card details are right. No idea what happened but it has been 24 hours that I still cannot add a second card. Frustrating.

    1. It’s just an annoying quirk with Category Choice gift cards. If you wait it should eventually let you add more.

  7. Where can I see if the $10 credit is in my account?
Did the purchase, got the email, but cannot find the credit.

          1. To check, add any item to your cart (shipped from Amazon AU warehouse), proceed to checkout, open the Payment Method tab, you should see the $10 credit at the bottom

  8. Late to the promotion. I can only see $25 gift cards, would this be Amazon removing the higher values. I’m guessing the higher values have “Sold Out”

    1. It’s just a bug. Try rotating your device or using a different browser/app and you should see $100 denominations.

  9. Round and round I go.
Buy the $100 Vanilla Visa gift card from Coles, collect bonus Flybuys points, use that card to buy the $100 Category Choice Groceries gift card and collect the $10 Amazon credit, back to Coles to spend that Category Choice on another Vanilla Visa ∞
