OnlyONE Visa Gift Cards

OnlyONE Visa gift cards are a series of prepaid open loop and merchant category gift cards produced by Blackhawk Network and issued by Indue. In 2023, they were phased out as Blackhawk’s newer Activ Visa gift card range took their place.

Summary

You can:

  • Use prepaid open loop OnlyONE Visa gift cards almost anywhere Visa is accepted
  • Use merchant category restricted OnlyONE Visa gift cards only at specific types of merchants (e.g. the Dining card works at restaurants)

You cannot:

  • Buy new OnlyONE Visa gift cards anymore
  • Add these gift cards to your mobile wallet

Types of OnlyONE gift cards

There are two types of OnlyONE Visa gift cards:

  • Prepaid open loop gift cards that can be used basically anywhere Visa is accepted
  • Merchant category gift cards restricted to certain industries

Prepaid open loop cards

The following OnlyONE Visa gift cards are prepaid open loop gift cards, meaning they can be used almost anywhere Visa prepaid cards are accepted (some restrictions still apply). Because they can be used anywhere, these gift cards have purchase fees of $5.95-7.95.

  • OnlyONE Visa Prepaid
  • OnlyONE Visa Birthday
  • OnlyONE Visa Thank You
  • OnlyONE Visa Congratulations
  • OnlyONE Visa Travel
  • OnlyONE Visa Gaming
  • OnlyONE Visa Explore
  • OnlyONE Visa Petrol
  • OnlyONE Visa Luxury

Whilst the prepaid open loop OnlyONE Visa gift cards can be used for almost anything, they do still have some restrictions. You cannot, for example, use them for gambling transactions or ATM withdrawals.

Merchant category cards

The following OnlyONE Visa gift cards are merchant category restricted gift cards. These gift cards don’t have any purchase fees because they can only be used within specific whitelisted industries.

For example, if you tried to use an OnlyONE Visa Dining card at a supermarket it wouldn’t work because that isn’t one of the approved merchant categories.

To use an OnlyONE Visa gift card for an in-person transaction, simply swipe the card in the payment terminal, select Credit and then enter your card’s PIN. If your card doesn’t have a PIN (some didn’t have them), just press OK instead and provide a signature if required by the merchant.

If paying online, enter your the sixteen digit number and expiry date found on the front of the card along with the three digit security code or CVV on the back. The name field doesn’t matter so input anything you like.

You can use OnlyONE Visa gift cards to make purchases overseas or in currencies other than Australian Dollars but this is not recommended as your transactions will be subject to a hefty 3.5% conversion fee.
