Update: Qantas Marketplace no longer sell Spotify gift cards and ShopBack are currently sold out, leaving Amazon as your only remaining option to buy Spotify gift cards at the old rate of $12/mo.

Spotify Premium now costs a staggering $15.99 per month in Australia. However, there’s an easy workaround to pay just $12 per month thanks to gift cards.
How to save 25% on Spotify Premium
Whilst Spotify have increased the price of Premium, they continue to sell gift cards at the old rate of $12 per month.
When you redeem a 1 month gift card onto your account, for example, you receive a full month of Spotify Premium, not just $12 worth of credit.
Spotify Premium gift cards can be used to pay for new and existing subscriptions so you don’t need to keep creating new accounts every time you want to redeem a new gift card.
The one major downside to Spotify gift cards is that they don’t support Student, Duo, Family or Basic subscriptions; they only work on Individual Premium subscriptions.
$140 for 12 month Spotify gift cards on Amazon
Amazon sell 12 month Spotify gift cards for just $140. That’s over $50 less than what it would cost you to pay for a full year of Spotify Premium at the new price of $15.99/mo.
Curiously, Amazon also sell 1, 3 and 6 month Spotify gift cards but these all use an unusual rate of $14/mo. They’re also a slightly different colour green to the 12 month $140 gift card.
$14/mo is still a nice discount on $15.99/mo but the 12 month $140 gift card represents much better value at $11.67/mo.
Why they continue to sell the 12 month gift card alongside those other $14/mo gift cards is unclear but if you know you’ll be subscribing to Spotify for the next year then you might want to buy it while you still can.
4% cashback on Spotify gift cards on ShopBack
Update: sold out.
You can buy 1, 3, 6 and 12 month Spotify Premium digital gift cards on the ShopBack website or in the ShopBack app and earn an additional 4% cashback on your purchase.
For example, if you paid $144 for a full year’s worth of Spotify Premium, you would earn $5.76 in cashback, usually credited within a couple of days of your purchase.
It’s not a huge amount but if you are going to subscribe to Spotify anyway then you might as well save as much as you can.
If you’re new to ShopBack, you can potentially earn an extra $20 bonus if you sign up via our referral link. At the time of writing, you only have to spend $50 and earn $20 in cashback to qualify for the $20 referral bonus.
4x points on Spotify gift cards on Qantas Marketplace
Update: sold out.
If you buy 1, 3 or 6 month Spotify Premium digital gift cards on Qantas Marketplace you’ll also earn 3x Qantas points per dollar spent.
You can increase this to 4.25x points per dollar by paying with a Qantas Pay prepaid card. Unlike credit cards which have eligibility criteria and credit checks, the Qantas Pay card is available to any Australian resident over the age of 16.
If you bought a year’s worth of Spotify Premium gift cards at 4.25x points per dollar you would receive a total of 612 Qantas points. Again, this isn’t a lot but it’s a nice bonus on top of the 25% you’ll be saving on your subscription cost.
How to redeem Spotify gift cards
To redeem your Spotify gift cards, head to spotify.com/au/account/redeem, sign into your account and then enter the PIN you received with your gift card purchase.

This won’t last forever
Many stores including Woolworths, Kmart, Target and Big W appear to have already removed Spotify gift cards from their shelves in recent months.
If you want to lock in these savings for your next year Spotify Premium, you should buy these gift cards before they disappear entirely.

You can only pay your premium account up to 12 months in advance so it’s worth checking the expiry of the gift card if planning to purchase multiple years worth of gift cards.
I can no longer see the Spotify gift cards on Qantas Marketplace, I think they may have been removed, I can only see random stuff like necklaces and vacuums when I search up Spotify.
Looks like they’ve been removed. They’re still available on ShopBack, though.
are there any cards that can be used on a family membership?
Not that I’m aware of.
Looks like they’ve been removed from ShopBack 🙁
They’re still showing up on ShopBack for me.
Ah my bad, they don’t show up on the ShopBack website now but seem to still be available on the app
