Supported merchant categories
TCN Fuel gift cards support the following merchant category codes:
- 5172: Petroleum and Petroleum Products
- 5541: Service Stations (with or without Ancillary Services)*
- 5542: Fuel Dispenser, Automated
- 5983: Fuel Dealers: Coal, Fuel Oil, Liquefied Petroleum, Wood
*Oddly, ‘5541: Service Stations’ isn’t listed in the TCN Fuel gift card’s terms and conditions as a supported MCC but this is an oversight as they definitely work there. If they didn’t, these gift cards would be almost completely useless.
